#Unsocialaes Profile: Panamera P

The #unsocialaesthetics profile series was created to high light artists and innovators that are changing how sound is made and business is being handled not just in Chicago, but the world..

Our next feature is the amazing Panamera P..

The Chicago music scene/industry has always been changing and growing because of the times we live in. It’s always been hard to get recognized for your talents in the city to a certain extent because there hasn’t always been a lot of infrastructure and creative resources to help everyone artist wise be uplifted for their creative efforts. With that being said there’s no for sure way to get acknowledged in the record industry world wide right now but everyone has been working on their own methods of going viral or becoming successful being an artist. In Chicago there are plenty of ways to be acknowledged as an artist, but the steez of a story teller from the cities trenches that comes from a hip-hop background is a known way but not many have done it and been successful record selling or stream wise. Even artists like Bump J, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, & Common had in a way their own connections to the streets that helped them become successful along side their own talents and record industry connections. If we go through the blog era the type of artist coming from Chicago that had a lot of motion began to change in a lot of ways culture and style wise. Artists like Chance the Rapper, Saba, Vic Mensa, Noname, YP, and others created their own notoriety from the city and helped create a certain style and sound coming from the city that wasn’t connected to drill music. That being said within the last year the new Chicago wave has been creating a conversation about what it is exactly and who’s apart of it. The type of artists that are talking more about it are the ones that have been in the trenches and just so happened to rap and create music, yet they have high respect in the trenches and have slowly began receiving more attention world wide. One of those artists is Panamera P..

Understand that Panamera P has been in the music scene/industry or even semi around it because of his brother Pirate Reem since 2011. Pirate Reem worked on a record called “Chicago Conscious” which featured G Herbo, King Louie, and Spenzo which helped create a buzz for the brothers, but because they were still learning how the industry worked and they expected a lot more from the moves they were making they slowed down on working on music. The trenches continued to push for P to keep rapping and once he did that everything changed. Even before P started taking his music more seriously he didn’t like his own music but still was being told how powerful of an artist he is. So his ability to create authentic records that are very telling of Chicago’s streets is no new feat for him. He began to take his artistry more seriously when he released his first project in 2017 “Flyraq” which was hosted by mixtape DJ Don Canon. P has always been ahead of his time because his rap tone gives this wise story-teller feel as he speaks about real life experiences and how to navigate the trenches from day to day. You can almost feel the emotions of the many folks he talks about as P creates very real and descriptive moments that speak towards hardships and overcoming them. This artist has already made a name for himself just because of his portfolio since 2019. But him teaming up with artists like Ju Jilla, Rufus Sims, Waterr and others has put P even more in his own lane because of who he is and how he takes up space..

Panamera P’s name comes from the Porsch car he bought in 2014 in Miami and drove it back to the city, he got that as a nickname from the trenches. Since then he has released very impressive bodies of work that are super reflective of the trenches but it’s not drill music, yet it’s powerful and very direct and demands attention. P has always given a lot of credit to his unique style of flows to his upbringing in the city. He has never shyed away from speaking on the real life experiences he has in his music, not many artists or folks in general can say they have lived the life P has. With that being said he understands exactly who he is and how people can perceive him. He also understands that him being from a space as special as Chicago gives him an edge many cannot relate to..

Throughout the blog era Panamera P continued to evolve as an artist because of the help of emcees like Joel Q, who lived on the same block in the hunnids and also went to the same school. Joel Q would help P better put out his music by showing him how technology worked to drop projects more. This would help P as he continued to build with artists like Skippa the Flipper and others that have helped increase the momentum around his name. 2017 was when Panamera P found his sound as he continued to put out more projects that starting getting P more attention. Producer Chase Davis began building with P engineering and production wise and that helped with making a name for himself more..

P is very aware that him as a Chicagoan is a different vibe entirely from someone that might be from the the country side or just not from a city. If you go anywhere in the world you will be able to see the way folks respect individuals from the city. He believes this also plays a huge part in why so many folks are in tune with his music and are fans in general. They understand that P is a unique emcee that can’t be duplicated with his style of flows and choice of production. This was before the new Chicago wave became a conversation in the past few years and even then Panamera P has always been a force in the hip-hop community that reps the hunnids like Green Sllime and Freddie Old Soul. Even more so he was always about the concept of unity and artists coming together because he knows that was not something taking place in the blog era..

Panamera P has been focused on making sure his place in the new Chicago wave is showing everyone in the world that Chicago has some of the best emcees there are. Yes P is truly a remarkable artist that is changing how the world is able to take in the trenches from his creative perspective. His is also adamant about shedding light on just how influential him and his peers are to the world right now. Artists like Ju Jilla, Rufus Sims, Recoechi, Mani Jurdan, Jae Haze, Philmore Greene and others are story teller structured artists that are making a lot of waves in the world right now. P wants the world to understand that his cities music is the future. With his recent releases it’s a lot of promise coming from P right now, and we need it now more than ever..

Panamera P has been in high demand all year with performing at some of the most important shows uplifting the hip-hop community in the city. While also dropping some amazing projects that have been getting some powerful reviews as well P has been setting the tone for quality music all year. Just finishing up shooting a music video with the legendary Freeway and YP and dropping another project with producer DVNT Beats, Panamera is still only just getting started with putting out more amazing music and showing up in community..
