#Unsocialaes Profile: A.M. Early Morning
The #unsocialaesthetics profile series was created to high light artists and innovators that are changing how sound is made and business is being handled not just in Chicago, but the world..
Our next feature is the incredible A.M. Early Morning..
A.M. Early Morning is absolutely incredible! He has a certain way that he creates community that is very important to the future of the city. Not because the people really come out to support, but because he stands for so much that is uplifting and changing Chicago one day at a time. But he ain’t nothing to play with. He will body anyone that believes he isn’t one of the very best emcees coming from the new Chicago wave. Again Early Morning consistently creates so much opportunity for the hip-hop spaces in the city that you can almost forget how lethal he is with the bars. He has always preached the concept of unity and collaboration almost to a prophetic level way before now. Understand that the music scene/industry is nothing without what he has contributed to the blog era all the way to now. A.M. Early Morning is in his own league..
He has had an amazing year with dropping several incredible projects and being apart of some of the best shows of the year, along with curating some legendary shows himself. His ability to not only stay consistent but authentic with his flows and musical structure is what puts him in his own lane in the music scene/industry. There is really no way that you can deny that Morning is not schooling the new generation coming behind him as he continues to set the tone with his peers. On top of being able to manifest community that is growing in the Chicago hip-hop spaces everyday, all of this and more shows why A.M. Early Morning is one of those artists leading the new Chicago wave and building more into the future of what our city is culturally..
Since 2012 Early Morning has been focused on being as authentic as possible. He began his music career being around individuals that were really into hip-hop and crafting bars that just hit different. Morning was then introduced to the creative Maneuver who was apart of helping Morning build more into his steez as an artist as far as how he recorded and even structured his songs. From there Morning was supported by OG’s that really believed in his craft and helped him in any way they could become a better artist. These encounters would help Morning deal with the gatekeeping that was taking place during the blog era that at times halted him from performing at certain venues in the city. He really saw the favoritism there was with certain artists and curators that made it difficult for all creatives to be acknowledged. He didn’t take it that personal though, instead he began to build more on his musical style with creatives that saw his vision of a city that was inclusive of everyone that had a love for Chicago music, especially hip-hop..
This also helped Morning get into more of his own show curation in 2016, which resulted in him creating shows that had a powerful hip-hop and open mic feel to the events that were bringing out crowds that really wanted to support not just Morning, but the artists that he was bringing together to perform. This approach to shows in the blog era then wasn’t that common, which helped really put a unique vibe to everything Morning was creating. If it wasn’t for Morning’s contributions during the blog era the cities quality of events wouldn’t be what it is now. Fast forward to now he has created a venue called the Nightshift that will be a space that will support all artists that want to create more community in the city that’s focused on the future of Chicago and bringing more folks together in the name of uplifting artists. Morning’s want for this space is that folks come out every time the venue has an event to support and really help take up space in a way that will create more unity in the city..
Morning’s mission overall is to keep creating music that is transforming the city while also making sure the work he’s putting into the community is on the same page. Just this year Morning has put out some of the best projects that have come out this year, and he’s not even finished with dropping this year. With a collab project with Ju Jilla dropping this year along with other projects Morning is still focused and busy making sure the quality is elevated when it comes to Chicago’s sound..
Take a listen to more of his projects and get ready for his first event at the nightshift to take place Sept 27th, with MVTE and Stock Marley performing..
