More Suede (BS2.5)-UAES Album Review
To understand what the new wave in Chicago is is to really embrace that while the goal is create more unity and collaboration, there’s no room for being selfish or down talking the amazing community being built in the city right now. Artists and curators are working hard to make sure that the community organizing, the quality of collaboration, and most importantly of all the music is uplifting that Chicago is the mecca of creation. With that being said the artists leading this wave are for none of the nonsense. They are so polished with the bars we feel bad for anyone that want smoke with these emcees. One of those artists making all of this look easy is the all powerful IAMGAWD..
IAMGAWD has been on a warpath all year with the moves he has been making. His first project of this year “Blood Stain Suede 2” has been making a lot of heads turn for the simple fact that IAMGAWD AND Clypto are a powerful combination. Even podcaster Joe Budden had to give IAMGAWD his props for the style of flows he uses. From uplifting legendary Chicago hip-hop pioneers like GQ Tha Teacha, to addressing rumors that he might be working with the legendary emcee Lupe Fiasco. IAMGAWD is letting the world know that Chicago never forgot how to rap, and we are so here for it..
His new project “More Suede (BS2.5)” is another example of just how hungry IAMGAWD is as far as getting these rhymes out. His cadence and choice of production is so remarkable because he has found a way to always let his aggressive bars fuse with the witty and powerful records he stay putting out. What we appreciate so much is how IAMGAWD keeps addressing the critics that don’t believe him and his peers are changing the city with the idea of unity and collaboration. Through powerful interludes and even more soul piercing bars IAMGAWD is challenging anyone who thinks they are topping him with the bars to step up and let themselves be known. Because he is one of those emcees you really don’t want problems with..
Records like “Name Up”, “Never 4Got”, & “Rose Drippin” ft KNG SVN & Panamera P really doubles down on the emotions IAMGAWD feels when it comes to acknowledging those that don’t want to give props because he is truly an amazing emcee..
While records like “Wise Souls” ft Ju-Jilla, & “My Biggest Enemy” really highlight IAMGAWD’s ability to be very honest with where he is in life while still having the motivation to rise to higher accomplishments..
The record that has us going crazy in the office is “BSll (RMX)” for the fact that IAMGAWD recruited some the very best emcees Chicago has for this song. Fellow emcees also leading this new wave like Panamera P, Ju-Jilla, Vic Spencer, Rufus Sims, and Waterr give this record the same powerful vibes as N.O.R.E.’s “Banned From TV”, only for IAMGAWD to go last and shows why he’s truly nothing to play with..
Our favorite records to play in the office are “Rose Drippin” ft KNG SVN & Panamera P, “Name Up”, “Wise Souls” ft Ju-Jilla, & “BSll (RMX)” ft Griffen, Panamera P, Ju Jilla, Vic Spencer, Rufus Sims, & Waterr..
Take a listen to this amazing project and let us know what you think..
