Trust the Stars-UAES Album Review

The O’My’s are one of those bands that have done nothing but create music that defines different eras & moments of time. Throughtout the last fifteen years the band has given Chicago and the world their very best sonically and they need to be given their flowers about that. If you are a true fan of Chicago’s band sound you will be familiar with The O’My’s, the band has this incredible alternative neo-soul/funk sound that is so soothing on the ear while it allows real vulnerability and talent to be seen from the band. The talents of Nick Hennesey & Maceo Vidal-Haymes are truly a sight to see. Their music is it’s own amazing experience as they speak on human experiences that everyone goes through. The delivery of their records when they are performed live are truly a rare treat. The O’My’s have worked with some of the world’s very best, from Chance The Rapper, Ab-Soul, Saba, and so many others. This band is truly it’s own legend because of the care and detail that can be heard in every song. Their presence and fans are very alive and strong in Chicago and around the world. Them releasing this new album should be taken very seriously. This band has a way of making music that is for the thinker and the visionary, This new project is a great example of that..

“Trust the Stars” is this beautifully crafted ten record project that has soulful tones, vulnerable lyrics, soothing melodies and harmonies, and flawless production. Features from Mother Nature, Pink Siifu, Jamila Woods, Konny Kon gives compliment to an already marvelous body of work. This album has amazing playback ability with no skips. Every record gives you this nostalgic adventure through amazing lyrics and phenomenal song structure..

Our favorite records to play in the office are “The Finest Rum”, “Feet off Ground”, “Sitting on the Edge”, & “Intro”. Take a listen and let us know what you think..
