The Boy Who Cried Wolf-UAES Album Review
To understand why Legit is one of those timeless artists that helped pioneer the Chicago blog era you had to be in the scene/industry at that time to see just how much of a force he was with his team 2008ighties. Legit was always able to hold his own on any record he touched in the past fifteen years. Like seriously, this artist is OG to a lot of your favorites right now. From building with Chance the Rapper and others in the legendary cypher curated by rubyhornet to working with Tink and Saba. The work Legit has under his resume is incredible to say the least. He has had a awesome year doing amazing DJ sets and having just recently uplifting his late brother Julian Malone and performing at Saba’s 10 year anniversary show. Legit dropping is a very big deal and we are so appreciative for his return to his musical efforts.. .
“The Boy Who Cried Wolf” is a beautifully constructed album that dives into the many different layers that comes from Legit and who he is as an artist and human being. He talks about the absent time he had with music and has conversations with himself as he addresses all of the things that made him known as the artist that he is and brings us all to speed on his journey to be his own person in this interesting world we all live in. With features from fellow 2008ighties member Calez, Alex Wiley, Rhea the Second, and others Legit gives us a introduction into his world he’s been working on for a very long time and is finally ready to share with the world..
Our favorite records to play in the office are “the way of water”, “All-Pro”, “Galaxy89” ft Rhea the Second, “Epilogue”, & “Android88” ft Calez & Average Bo..
