The Apes That Was Left Behind-UAES Album Review

Vic Spencer is the embodiment of Chicago hip-hop for so many reasons. One of the most important is that he has always been focused on creating records that do nothing but get better with time. Even more importantly he has always been about giving his OG’s the flowers they deserve because he understands that bringing community together is the only way the Chicago music scene/industry will continue to grow. This and many more reasons are why Vic Spencer is helping lead the new Chicago wave, he has always been about the unity and community work that’s been forming througout the city. With this new album he continues to introduce the world to the foundations he comes from in the form of bars that are incredible. Seriously Vic is in rare form and he’s only just getting started..

“The Apes That Was Left Behind” is a project that uplifts the respect and love Vic has for the legendary emcee Sean Price and his family while it also serves as his debut album with the amazing RuckDown records. Each record has beautiful production that really shows the care and patience Spencer has put into this powerful album. Even more importantly the bar play is next level for Vic Spencer on this album. He made sure that you are able to truly see into his world as he collaborates with some of the very best in the hip-hop industry such as Oh No, Philmore Greene, Sadat X, Rome Streetz, Sauce Heist, Rim da Villain, Pressha Dinero, Rockness Monsta, the legendary Sean Price himself and many more..

Our favorite records to play in the office are “A Damaged Wraith ft Rockness Monsta”, “Otto From The Simpsons ft Pressha Dinero”, “Gymshoe ft Philmore Greene”, & “Immediately ft Sadat X”..

Take a listen and let us know what you think..
