u be-UAES Album Review

Lloyd Dotdot(formely known as Dot Kom) is one of those artists that have done nothing but grow better with time. His work as the second half of the legendary duo TheWhoEvers truly speaks for itself but he has been working on more than just bars lately. This project is a milestone to his work as a producer but also his community efforts and his creative direction as well artist wise. Dotdot gives us a glimpse into his world as a father and husband but it’s more to it than that. If you remember the amazing things the duo TheWhoEvers contributed to the music scene/industry along side legendary artists like Nick Astro, ShowYouSuck, Brittany Nacole, Pslam One, and so many others from the blog era you will know that they are nothing to play with. Even more so they really had this abstract lofi hip-hop boom bap sound that is just beginning to get popular again in the music industry worldwide. This project is really the return of Lloyd Dotdot and we are truly excited for what he does next..

The project “u be” is a beautifully crafted album fused with production centering around RnB, soul, funk, and hip-hop. Each record is very nostalgic and sample based while at the same time abstract sounding. This project is five years in the making and we absolutely love the smooth vibes it gives overall. The only thing we wished for is that Dotdot gave us some bars of his own to the project as well. Ya’ll have to understand TheWhoEvers was like the filipino outkast, especially during the blog era in Chicago. They were creating pshydelic hip-hop before artists like Ab-Soul, Lucki, and Wiz Khalifa became known for it. So to get some music from one half of that amazing duo is the perfect way to transition into the fall season..

Our favorite records to play in the office are “GET”, “Sumama Ka” ft Marius, “cloud mountain”, & “I just wanna come up and talk”..

Take a listen and let us know what you think. Also tap in with some of our favorite records from the legendary thewhoevers duo as well..
